This series of rifle was in service from 1939 until the end of the war. The turret mounted sniper rifles were considered one of the best and most efficient designed sniper rifle based on the K98, however' it was also the most time consuming to actually produce. ![]() The Sauer version of the high turret are quite rare and desirable. Sauer & Sohns factories with the Mauser factory producing the vast majority of all sniper rifle versions. ![]() During WWII there were three primarily factories involved in producing sniper rifles for all German forces Steyr, Mauser and J. Sauer & Sohns factory in Suhl, that has been fitted with a Joseph Schneider sniper scope. This is an excellent original example of a late WWII German turret sniper rifle that was manufactured by the J. ![]()
